Indigo primers are formulated mainly to improve the adhesion between the emulsion topcoat and the wall. Usually, exterior walls exposed to sunlight, rain and dust will need washing before painting. You can use a scrapper / abrasive paper to remove the loose paint. Use a pressure wash and scrub with a wire brush to remove accumulated dirt, grease, algae, fungus, and moss growth. For Interior surfaces with oil, grease, or wax stains you can wash it away with a mild soap solution and a soft sponge. Please make sure that the walls are dry completely before starting the painting work.
Yes, but depending on the condition of the previous coating the surface will need to be prepared before applying the final paint. If the previous coating is in good condition, clean the surface to removes dust, and grease. In case the previous coating is glossy, sand using abrasive paper till the surface is dull and clean the surface. If the previous coating is in bad condition, remove the loose / flaky paint using an abrasive paper, use pressure wash and scrub with a wire brush to remove algae, fungus, and moss growth. Fill the cracks / dents, if required, with Indigo Acrylic Wall Putty. Apply one coat of Indigo Wall Primer, followed by 2 coats of Indigo Wall Paint keeping 4-6 hours interval between coats.
