Emulsion Paints are water based paints which are more long-lasting when compared to distemper paint. Distempers are more conservative form of paint and has lesser durability than emulsions. Emulsions boasts of smoother finish as compared to distempers.

Indigo floor paint is a tough emulsion that is designed specially to protect and beautify cemented floors, interlock tiles, cement blocks etc. that are used on driveways & walkways. This paint is washable, and resistant to fungus and algae with good abrasion resistance to handle low to medium traffic. Indigo floor coat emulsion is available in a wide variety of non- fading shades to suit your needs.

Generally, the wear and tear to the existing coating or a special occasion or festival is what influences the frequency of painting. It can range from 3 – 8 years.

In case of interiors, the walls of the kitchen, kids’ rooms, and bathrooms tend to get dirty faster. The paint on the walls of bedrooms and living areas suffer less wear and tear.

In case of exteriors the level of exposure to the elements determines the life of the coating. Higher the exposure, greater will be the impact on the life of paint film.

Putties and primes are the foundation to any topcoat.

Indigo Putties are generally paste like in consistency and designed to level out the undulations on the wall and create a smooth even surface.

Indigo primers are formulated mainly to improve the adhesion between the emulsion topcoat and the wall. However, there are specialized primers also in our range that are designed to address specific problems like the stain block primer that helps hide tough stains. Usually, exterior walls exposed to sunlight, rain and dust will need washing before painting. You can use a scrapper / abrasive paper to remove the loose paint. Use a pressure wash and scrub with a wire brush to remove accumulated dirt, grease, algae, fungus, and moss growth. For Interior surfaces with oil, grease, or wax stains you can wash it away with a mild soap solution and a soft sponge. Please make sure that the walls are dry completely before starting the painting work.

Yes, but depending on the condition of the previous coating the surface will need to be prepared before applying the final paint. If the previous coating is in good condition, clean the surface to removes dust, and grease. In case the previous coating is glossy, sand using abrasive paper till the surface is dull and clean the surface. If the previous coating is in bad condition, remove the loose / flaky paint using an abrasive paper, use pressure wash and scrub with a wire brush to remove algae, fungus, and moss growth. Fill the cracks / dents, if required, with Indigo Acrylic Wall Putty. Apply one coat of Indigo Wall Primer, followed by 2 coats of Indigo Wall Paint keeping 4-6 hours interval between coats.

Normally three methods are used to apply paint on walls – by brush, roller and spray gun. The paint needs to be diluted to the right consistency while choosing any of the above methods. Application by roller is the most common method used while applying wall paint.

Washable Paint helps to keep your walls fresh and clean by offering the ability to clean dirt, stains etc. without affecting the paint film. Primarily, it depends upon the wall surface to be painted i.e. Interior or Exterior. Wall paints can be selected based on your requirement of finish, features, and budget.

Wall Paints that have high emulsion content, a component that gives the paint higher wet scrub resistance, will have a better washability. For eg. Indigo Interior Emulsion Silver Series (Economy Range) will have moderate washability, while Indigo Luxury Interior Emulsion Platinum Series (Luxury Range) will have best in class washability.

There are mainly 2 types of interior wall paints namely Distempers and Emulsions. Emulsions offer a better finish and longevity as compared to distempers. Emulsions generally offer features like smooth/matt/sheen finish, stain resistance, high opacity, coverage, durability, and are very easy to clean. Before applying the Wall Paint, clean the surface of loose paint, dust, and grease. Use a pressure wash & scrub with a wire brush to remove algae, fungus, and moss growth. Apply 2 coats of Indigo Polymer Putty and one coat of Indigo Wall Primer, followed by 2 coats of Indigo Wall Paint keeping 4-6 hours of interval between coats

It is recommended to fill very large gaps using smaller pieces of the wood itself with the help of a carpenter. Small cracks / holes can be filled by using polyester putty or multipurpose sealants.

A Primer surfacer or Primer Sealer is a primer with high binder content, this aids to seal the pores of the substrate effectively thereby enhancing adhesion and giving a uniform finish & gloss of the topcoat.

Red oxide primer is a protective coating applied on ferrous metal surfaces to prevent them from rusting and corroding due to exposure to the elements. It helps increase the life of the metal and the durability of the final topcoat.

Yes, you can use water-based topcoat or emulsion Paint over oil-based Primer or Solvent-thinnable Cement primer.

Topcoat coating interval between Oil based Primer and Emulsion Paint should be after overnight drying ie; 12 hrs, and should not be more than 48 hrs.

Oil base Primer if allowed to dry for more than 48 hours, will lead to inferior adhesion of the Topcoat.

Wood primer is the undercoat applied on wood surfaces before it is painted. The purpose is to achieve superior adhesion of the final topcoat to the wood surface. It also offers short term protection for the wood from moisture up until

the topcoat is applied. Indigo wood primer has excellent coverage, is easy to use, and dries quickly.

Wall putty helps provide a smooth and even look to the wall and is a recommended step in the painting system. Wall putty is generally applied using a putty blade and involves applying multiple coats in thin fine layers to remove any undulations and holes on the surface.

Apply two to three coats to achieve best results. Make sure the first coat is completely dry before you apply the second coat. A coat of primer must be applied to the bare wall before you apply acrylic wall putty.
