    FAQs

How is Indigo paints different from other paint brands?

Not only are products from Indigo Paints different, but we have introduced products where none existed. Identifying and catering to niche, unique requirements of the customer has been in our DNA and products like Ceiling coat emulsion, Metallic emulsion, Floor Coat emulsion are just a few examples of how we have been trendsetters in the industry.

By dedicating ourselves to satisfying true customer needs, we set ourselves apart from other paint brands.

What is the difference between distemper and emulsion paint?

Emulsion Paints are water based paints which are more long-lasting when compared to distemper paint. Distempers are more conservative form of paint and has lesser durability than emulsions. Emulsions boasts of smoother finish as compared to distempers.

    What is Indigo Floor Paint?

Indigo floor paint is a tough emulsion that is designed specially to protect and beautify cemented floors, interlock tiles, cement blocks etc. that are used on driveways & walkways. This paint is washable, and resistant to fungus and algae with good abrasion resistance to handle low to medium traffic. Indigo floor coat emulsion is available in a wide variety of non- fading shades to suit your needs.

How Frequently Should I Paint My Home?

Generally, the wear and tear to the existing coating or a special occasion or festival is what influences the frequency of painting. It can range from 3 – 8 years.

In case of interiors, the walls of the kitchen, kids’ rooms, and bathrooms tend to get dirty faster. The paint on the walls of bedrooms and living areas suffer less wear and tear.

In case of exteriors the level of exposure to the elements determines the life of the coating. Higher the exposure, greater will be the impact on the life of paint film.

Following the right painting practice and using the right product for the surface are critical in ensuring the best performance and life of any coating.

    What Are Primers and Putty?

Putties and primes are the foundation to any topcoat.

Indigo Putties are generally paste like in consistency and designed to level out the undulations on the wall and create a smooth even surface.

Indigo primers are formulated mainly to improve the adhesion between the emulsion topcoat and the wall. However, there are specialized primers also in our range that are designed to address specific problems like the stain block primer that helps hide tough stains. You can refer our technical datasheet for more detailed information about our different products.

What does washable paint mean for walls?

Washable Paint helps to keep your walls fresh and clean by offering the ability to clean dirt, stains etc. without affecting the paint film. Washable Wall Paints are very easy to clean with mild soap solution and a soft sponge. Wall Paints that have high emulsion content, a component that gives the paint higher wet scrub resistance, will have a better washability and durability.

    What are paint tinting machines?

Once you choose a shade from the Indigo Paints Colour Fandeck / Shade card, our tinting machines are designed to automatically pick and mix the shade you choose into the paint of your choice within minutes. Choose any colour from the Indigo Paints catalogue and allow your nearest Indigo dealer to create the perfect tint you desire for your walls.

Does Indigo Paints make only floor paint?

Indigo is the leading brand in floor paints. But we do offer the entire range of decorative paint products, including interior emulsions, exterior emulsions, wood coatings, putties, primers etc. Visit your nearest paint store or our website to know more.

What is the difference between different series of products of Indigo Paints?

Enamels are solvent-based paints generally used for painting metal and wooden surfaces. Enamels are mostly available in gloss & satin finishes. Solvent based thinners like turpentine are used to dilute enamels.
